To do the job properly, and fix a deep scratch in your car paint, you will sometimes need to respray the whole panel. Nothing quite ruins an otherwise tidy paint job quite like a deep scratch or an assortment of stone chips. But can you easily fix stone chips or scratches yourself? For very small paint chips, wrap your sanding paper around the blunt end of a pencil to ensure you don't scratch the surrounding paint.

Use a cutting compound such asT-Cutor very fine grain dry and wet sandpaper to do this. Avoid rubbing too hard so that you don't cause damage to the surrounding clearcoat. You need to avoid sharp edges to make the repair less noticeable. Depending on where you are located and what's available, you may be able to source paint chip repair kits locally. However, you are more likely to find both the correct paint and a better price online.

There are just two potential drawbacks to this particular chip repair product. First, its paint finish is matte, not glossy – so it won't be a perfect match for all black cars. It may not be able to handle significant chipping, as it's really for tiny little chips and thin scratches. Getting a thick stream of paint isn't likely with this pen. If repairing a deep paint chip, you may find that the level of fill after one application remains slightly below the surface of your vehicle's original paint. However, you can apply additional layers of our factory-matched car paint to build up the chip fill.
